My 5 yr old son had the same problem. i took him to the doctor for it and they asked me if I brush his teeth regularly for him.I told them of course I do! They told me to have him gargle with salt water and use children’s mouth wash. Nothing worked and I was getting very frustrated with the doctors.I eventually found out that every time he ate anything that contained tomatoes, pizza sauce, spaghetti sauce, ketchup etc… That he would get a mild stomach ache and sometimes on occasion have some diarrhea.Shortly after he ate it was when his bad breath would kick in.I came to find out that he is allergic to anything that contains tomato. Your daughter might be allergic to something that she is eating as well.

My child actually had the same issue he’s five now.His breath had a odor even after each brush . I took him to the doctor and come to find out it was an sinus infection causing the odor.Even without any pain or fever an antibody was needed and the smell went away.Little bodies pick up alot of germs very easy so always keep a close check because little precious kids tend to be a target for the most common germs.Don’t forget your tongue is what holds odor so brush there gently to get rid of excess bacteria also.

Allergies, thrush, sinus infections, inner ear infections, and acid reflux disorders can all cause this.

I was going to say brush her tongue and noticed others said that. I learned something new from these mothers. I eat oatmeal almost every day for breakfast – the kind you have to cook rather than the instant and it doesn’t cause bad breath in me. I hope it isn’t either a sinus infection or allergy and just
a little tongue brushing is needed.

My oatmeal recipe: Put the amount you want to eat in a microwave safe bowl. Cover with water about 1/4 inche above the oatmeal flakes. Microwave on high for 1 minute. It should bubble up. If it doesn’t add a minute until it does. Watch that it doesn’t dry out.

My cholesterol was so improved after eating oatmeal for a year my doctor literally almost passed out. It hadn’t been dangerous, but it was high normal. May she never have any diet induced health problem.

There is a genetic disorder that causes a person’s breath to smell fishy. It causes trimethylammonium to be present in the stomach. I’ll find out the name of this genetic disorder and then I’ll post it here later.

Edit: The disorder is called Trimethylaminuria
