They are lots of dog treats and toys that help with teeth cleaning and breath freshening.

I’m guessing it is a dog? loads of doggy breath chews are available and enzyme based tooth pastes that clean teeth with minimal brushing. all my 5 dogs have great white teeth

If the dog has bad breath due to the teeth, you should get them cleaned.. You should be feeding a good quality dog food, and giving her lots of fresh water to drink…

do you feed canned food or kibble? kibble will help remove the tarter on the teeth which could be giving off the bad smell.

If he will let you, brush them yourself and add a little garlic to his daily diet. Worked for my mom’s dog

Spend the 175.00 because he is probably in pain too.

If the dog has bad teeth back there somewhere than nothing can help. Except of course them being pulled. If your feeding him canned food than thats a big reason they can have bad breath as well. Tartar and plaque build up will cause bad breath as well and Greenies or breath busters might help Very short term but it will come back real fast. We need to make absolutely sure that their are no rotting teeth in his mouth which yes… means a vet visit. Good luck

1. getting doggy toothbrush and toothpaste
2. greenie bones help freshen breath and keep teeth clean
3. invest in some quality food like science diet preventative range. It acts like dental floss and keeps their breath fresh and teeth clean.
Try all of the above before taking him to the vet for a teeth clean. But be aware that normally at that age, all dogs tend to need to get their teeth cleaned.

Your vet will probably sell a flouride additive that you can put in your dog’s water – just add a capful to every bowl, and voila! It costs abou $15 a bottle, and lasts about a month.
Or, you could try dental chews, such as Greenies (which are very expensive, but maybe you can find a generic?)
Or, you can buy dog toothbrushes and toothpaste at your local pet supply store, if your dog will let you do this. Much cheaper than the vet.

If you can stand to get near him, it might help to brush his teeth yourself. Use water or a dog toothpaste, not humans toothpaste. You should have been doing it throughout his life.
But it would be better to pay the piper and have the vet clean his teeth and remove loose teeth, then start doing maintenance brushing at home. Your dog will be much more pleasant to be around when his breath doesn’t nearly knock you over. Beside that, gum disease can cause loss of important supportive teeth and jawbone.

you should probably take him to the vet. I know it’s pricey, but if he does have some dental problems, they’ll only get worse if left untreated. Try feeding your dog a high-quality kibble and not canned food. You can also give him chews that are good for his teeth – have you tried greenies? And, if he’ll let you, brush his teeth with doggie toothpaste.
Please think about having him examined by a vet. That way you can see if there are any serious dental issues. If he has bad teeth, he may be at risk for developing related health problems. Tell your vet that you’re on a limited budget and see if he/she will work out a payment plan for you.
Good luck!

At a pet store they have this thing called a doggy tooth brush, if its not too pricey you might want to get that and put some tooth paste in it and give it to your dog, which should help the smell some, you can also buy special treats that keep your dogs breath from smelling bad (these REALLY worked for me) also, they have this thing called D.D.S. you can put in its water bowl. If your dog has teeth problems that you know about, take it to the vet, it may cost alot but it will prevent it from getting worse.

your local pet store should have dog toothbrushes and toothpaste you can do it yourself
