    Hydrogen Peroxide will kill the bacteria in your mouth and bacteria do cause bad breath, but they can come from the throat and/or stomach too.

    Baking soda would be a poor choice.

    Also remember to dilute the perioxide and to spit it out.

    Hydrogen peroxide is good if there is an infection. There is another chemical available which I can’t remember the name of but I think it is related to sodium hypochlorite (bleach) which was originally used to reduce the odor of garbage and was found to be very effective against bad breath. I’m sure you’ll find it if you search the internet. It is commercially available.
